Free Beat Distribution and Paid Beat Sales—Not “Either-Or,” but a Hybrid Strategy

As a beatmaker, you may often wonder: “Should I distribute my beats for free, or should I sell them?” Many struggle with this question. However, an “all-or-nothing” mindset—choosing only one approach—may actually limit your potential.

Neither Free Distribution Alone nor Paid Sales Alone Is Enough

Free distribution is great for “increasing awareness” and “gaining fans,” but it’s hard to monetize directly. On the other hand, paid sales help with “generating revenue” and “enhancing brand value,” but they have limitations in reaching new users and expanding your fanbase.

Focusing on just one approach leads to missed opportunities:
