I’d like to share my impressions after actually using Suno 4.5.
First of all, the sound quality is clearly improved. Compared to previous versions (like v4 or v3.5), the overall expressiveness has increased and the sound feels richer and fuller. In particular, the balance and distortion issues have been largely resolved, making it feel like the output is now ready to be used as a finished product.
However, remastering songs created with older versions in 4.5 doesn’t dramatically improve them. While the remastering feature exists, there are limits to how much the original material can be enhanced, so you shouldn’t expect your old tracks to be completely reborn in ultra-high quality.
On the other hand, the Cover feature has evolved significantly. In previous versions, covering a song often resulted in the melody changing quite a bit, but in 4.5, it remembers the original melody much better. This means that if you want to rearrange a song into a different genre while keeping its original vibe, you can now achieve a much more natural result.
Also, genre reproduction when specifying in the prompt has become much more accurate. For example, if you request “K Pop, anime-style, upbeat” in your prompt, you’ll get exactly that kind of song. In earlier versions, genre instructions often resulted in something that felt a bit off, but 4.5 reproduces genre characteristics very faithfully. Each word in your prompt now carries more weight, making detailed instructions more meaningful.
Background noise has also been reduced. There used to be some distinctive noise mixed in, but in 4.5, that kind of unwanted sound has been greatly reduced. It’s not completely gone, but it’s improved to the point where it’s hardly noticeable during normal listening.
Finally, the issue of songs not ending naturally has been largely resolved. Previously, endings would often drag on or cut off abruptly without a fade-out, but now there are more songs that end naturally. Especially for tracks over four minutes, it’s now possible to generate a proper ending.
To summarize:
- Improved sound quality and expressiveness
- Enhanced Cover feature with better melody retention
- Much higher accuracy when specifying genres
- Reduced noise
- Improved song endings
Honestly, it now feels like Suno is not just for “trying things out,” but has reached a level where you can actually finish a track as a proper work.
