Suno’s advanced options include three main creative sliders—Weirdness, Style Influence, and Audio Influence—that allow users to fine-tune how the AI generates music. Each slider controls a different aspect of the song’s generation and output.

Weirdness Slider

  • Function: Controls how quirky, experimental, or unconventional the generated music becomes.
  • Low Values: Produces simpler, more predictable, and conventional music. Rhythms are straightforward, melodies are less complex, and vocals are steady.
  • High Values: Increases musical complexity, unpredictability, and experimental elements. Rhythms become intricate, melodies more varied, and vocal processing more distinctive. At the highest settings (especially above 80%), the output can become extremely chaotic—sometimes to the point where it no longer resembles traditional music.
  • Usage: Best for users who want to explore avant-garde or experimental sounds, or who wish to add unique twists to their tracks. Lower values are recommended for more mainstream or genre-faithful results.

Style Influence Slider

  • Function: Adjusts how strongly the chosen musical style(s) affect the generated song.
  • Low Values: The style’s influence is weak; the song may sound more generic or less tied to the specified genre or style.
  • High Values: The style’s characteristics are pronounced; genre-specific elements, instrumentation, and arrangements become much more evident.
  • Usage: Increase this slider if you want the song to clearly reflect a particular style or genre (e.g., “jazz,” “EDM,” “lo-fi”). Decrease it for a subtler, more blended, or less stylized result.

Audio Influence Slider

  • Function: Controls how much any uploaded audio (such as a reference track, melody, or vocal) impacts the generated result.
  • Low Values: Suno relies more on the text prompt and style settings, using the uploaded audio as a loose reference.
  • High Values: The AI closely follows the structure, melody, or rhythm of the uploaded audio, using it as a strong foundation for the new track.
  • Usage: Raise this slider if you want the final song to closely mirror your reference audio. Lower it if you want Suno to use your upload as inspiration but take more creative liberties.

Summary Table

SliderLow SettingHigh SettingBest For
WeirdnessSimple, conventional, predictableComplex, experimental, chaoticMainstream or avant-garde music
Style InfluenceGeneric, less genre-specificStrongly stylized, genre-faithfulSubtle blends or clear genre identity
Audio InfluenceLoose reference to uploaded audioClosely follows uploaded audioInspiration or faithful remixes

These sliders empower users to customize their creative process, allowing for everything from safe, genre-faithful tracks to wild, experimental compositions. Adjusting them lets you control how much Suno’s AI “plays it safe” versus how much it pushes musical boundaries.
