Bench press bars come in different sizes and weights:

  1. Olympic Bar: This is the standard bar used in most gyms and official competitions. It typically weighs 20 kg (44 pounds) and is 220 cm long with a sleeve diameter of 50 mm.
  2. Standard Bar: Often used for home training, these bars are lighter, weighing around 10–15 kg (22–33 pounds). They are shorter at approximately 180 cm and have a sleeve diameter of 28 mm.
  3. Women’s Olympic Bar: Designed for female lifters, it weighs 15 kg (33 pounds) and has slightly smaller dimensions compared to the men’s Olympic bar.

When lifting, the weight of the bar itself is included in the total weight calculation. For example, lifting an Olympic bar alone means you are lifting 20 kg.
